Background information to the Group Friendship Exchange 2011 to Nova Scotia
The group from District 1010 will begin the 15 day visit to District 7820 in Canada on Saturday 3rd September. The party will be home hosted by 5 clubs for 3 nights each, from 3rd to 18th September.
3,4,5 September - Rotary Club of Charlottetown Royalty, Prince Edward Island
6,7,8 September - Rotary Club of North Sydney, Cape Breton
9,10,11 September - Rotary Club of Dartmouth, Halifax
12,13,14 September - Rotary Club of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia
15,16,17 September - Rotary Club of Annapolis Valley
18 September - travel home to the UK (flight is at 23.34)
District 7820 is the largest Rotary area in North America covering Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador.

Preparation for the trip started in November with a familiarisation session chaired by International Exchange Officer for the District, Mike Barron. Preparation over the months has included:

Unfortunately Peter McMillan had to pull out due to ill health.
Preparation for the trip started in November with a familiarisation session chaired by International Exchange Officer for the District, Mike Barron. Preparation over the months has included:
- A 20 minute powerpoint presentation of the team
- A publication giving details of the individuals, a greeting from DG Iain and some information about our District
- Standard name badges
- Preparation of individual visiting cards and group cards
- Decisions about gifts for hosts, banner presentations, gift badges and allocation of duties while in Nova Scotia
